Dubai: Residents and tourists visiting Dubai’s City Walk now have more shopping and dining options.
The retail destination, developed by Dubai-based holding company Meraas, unveiled its expanded portfolio on Wednesday.
Located at the junction of Al Wasl and Safa Road, City Walk now has 30 new outlets open, with 30 more scheduled to open by mid-2016.
Among the new outlets are Karl Lagerfeld, Diane Von Furstenberg, Maje, Serendipity3, Armani Exchange, M Missoni, Tory Burch and Coach.
The destination also features Michelin-star restaurants, among other food and beverage options, according to a company statement on Wednesday.
City Walk’s new attractions include The Green Planet, a bio-dome said to be the region’s first, featuring over 3,000 plants and animals, as well as Mattel Play! Town, a 5,000 square metre children’s attraction themed around five popular characters from Mattel, such as Angelina Ballerina, Barney and Bob the Builder.
Mattel Play! Town will also feature cafés and a store featuring merchandise from Mattel.
The attractions are the latest additions to the Meraas leisure and entertainment division’s portfolio, which also includes The Dome Box, a 360-degree dome theatre at Box Park, also developed by Meraas and located on Al Wasl Road.
Last month, Meraas announced that it has established Valiant Clinic at City Walk, its first health care and wellness project. It is under the management of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services.
With an area of almost one million square feet dedicated to retail, City Walk’s total built-up area spans more than 10 million square feet.
City Walk was launched in 2013, featuring 52 outlets including Starbucks, Yoku Moku, Paul, Burger Joint, Hummingbird Bakery, Al Jabr Optical, Sauce in the Hood, Mothercare, Roberto Cavalli Décor, 1847 and Sephora, among others.
Meraas operates in the property, hospitality, retail, leisure and entertainment sectors.
