Get your coffee IV ready — a “Gilmore Girls” revival is now officially in the works at Netflix.
The streaming service announced Friday afternoon that it’s bringing back stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) for a final season of the beloved show, which ran for seven season from 2000 to 2007. Also on board for the revival are original cast members Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Keiko Agena (Lane).
Graham shared her excitement on Twitter with a selfie captioned, “It’s time for me, and this jacket I stole in 2007, to return to work.”
Rumors began popping up in October about the possibility of a revival, but the news wasn’t officially confirmed until today. According to Deadline, the limited-edition series will consist of four 90-minute episodes, with each one taking place during a different season of the year. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is back at the helm — she’ll write and direct each episode with her husband and co-executive producer, Daniel Palladino.
Netflix hasn’t announced a title or premiere date for the revival, but it sounds like we won’t have too long to wait. An Instagram pic posted this afternoon revealed the episodes will be available sometime this year.
“From Stars Hollow to Hartford to New Haven to Netflix,” the caption reads. “Welcome back, girls. An all new season of Gilmore Girls coming to Netflix in 2016.”
